# Contacts API

> Manage contacts, tags, and custom fields in your workspace.

The Contacts API allows you to programmatically create, retrieve, update, and delete contacts within your Automate Chats workspace. You can use these endpoints to synchronize contacts from your external CRM, update contact tags based on actions, and set custom field values.
